Your Initial Consultation

This appointment will discuss surgery, determine the appropriate procedure for you, pre-operative screenings as well as post-surgery care. Please allow approximately an hour and 15 minutes, in total, for these appointments. The appointment will include:

• A one-on-one discussion with our Upper Gastro-Intestinal & Laparoscopic Surgeons who specialize in bariatric surgery. They can offer qualified medical advice and answer any questions you may have about your journey. You will need a referral from your GP to see our specialist team.
• A one-on-one discussion with one of the nurses, with over 30 years combined experience, to discuss those clinical questions you may have forgotten to ask earlier, and they will guide you through your pre-operative screening, and additionally your post-operative care.
• Everyone is different and you are unique. You will receive a personalised financial quotation depending on the type of procedure, the hospital and expected time in hospital, with any other variables that may be relevant. Our experience office manager and her team will discuss fees, inclusions and the timeline of events should you wish to proceed to surgery.

Fees

The Initial Consultation with the specialist and the team will cost $250 and you will receive a Medicare rebate of $80 leaving you out of pocket $170. If you are looking to fund your surgery through superannuation, we can certainly assist you with this process after the initial consultation when you decide which procedure is best for you.
